This alpine ascent is the route I took when exploring the area S of Woldingham Station on skis. Other, probably better, options are possible!
Turn right out of Woldingham station into Church Road, and take this gently rising road S (nb not the steeper road into Woldingham village). The road becomes a track after the farm. Follow this, and after approx 800m take the footpath off to the right. Follow this around the railway tunnel entrance and then up into Great Church Wood. At the junction with the bridleway on the ridgeline, I veered off right into woodland to find a descent.
A couple of loops are possible in the field at TQ 363549, and then back N through the fields towards the footbridge over the railway at TQ 363557. The most enjoyable part of this descent is probably the slightly steeper field next to the tunnel entrance.
