Approach

From Contamines get to the top of the Bûche Croisée chairlift.  N.B There is a special ski tourer's ticket before 09.30h, (18.50€ in 2014.)

Ascent

From the top of the Bûche Croisée chairlift go along the ridge for a short distance and then traverse down to the south to reach the large flattish area of the Grande Perrière. Go S, (easy angled) then follow the broad ridge W to reach the Col de la Gitte (2359m,) (a short descent.)  Continue along the broad ridge to the Enclaves summit, 2465m.

Descent

Go back down the ridge but before the Col de la Gitte go down the broad shoulder to the N.  Continue down to the Berger chalet and then the Colombe chalets and so the the bottom of the Ruelle ski lift.
If there is not much snow then you can continue going to the N instead of descending towards the Berger chalet.  This leads to some steep slopes which descend into the Dorinet valley.  Follow this valley to the Belleville pistes.
If you are returning to Contamines and do not want to use the lifts again then follow the ascent route to the Grande Perrière then continue traversing until it is possible to skin up beside a piste coming down from the ridge between Contamine and Hauteluce valleys.  Flattish skiing!
